Hello, Welcome to Joyce's Paint'n Place. 

Over the years I have developed a love of Tole Painting. Tole painting is a broad term for decorative painting. It describes a variety of different styles of painting. Tole painting was mainly applied to metal or tin. But now tole painting is done on just about any surface you can think of. I hope you'll stop by often to see the different things that I'll be adding. I'll be painting ornaments, wooden plaques and some trash to treasure items for all seasons. So you'll never know what you might find here. To the right you'll see some of my finished work. 
I've been painting for many years, I've taught painting classes for more then 20 years. I've taught classes through Rec & Parks and for Michaels Craft Stores. Later in the year I'll be teaching at the Craft Guild Shop, they have a nice size area for classes and it's a comfortable place to spend a few hours learning the techniques so you can create your own hand painted pieces.
I mostly work in acrylic's but lately I've started working in oils which I enjoy very much. My favorite seasonal items to paint has to be Christmas. I paint pieces that you can display in your home or give as gifts that are timeless and can be handed down from generation to generation.
   

Last year I became a member of The Craft Guild of St. Mary's County, Inc. and I have my painted pieces for sale in the Craft Guild Shop. The Slide show below gives you a peek at some of the things that are made by more then a dozen local artisans here in Maryland.
